About the Author- Saurabh Mishra
I have co-founded five business ventures over the past 20 years. Four of these were bought out by some of the largest healthcare businesses in Australia. I remain actively involved in this space as an executive and investor. However for over a decade, I have spent my Wednesdays not in the office, but volunteering for a palliative care agency - giving company to people who are dying and helping them write their biographies; working within social ventures that deal in matters close to my heart - fostering conscious entrepreneurship, and organising Hindustani classical music recitals; And also in long hours of silent meditation (Kriya Yoga). I have travelled extensively through this time, and had the joy of meeting truly extraordinary people - wholly self-realised souls with absolute mastery over body and mind.
A close friend and business mentor, Keith Jeffs often remarked that there was a book in all of this, and that he would write it for me. But he died unexpectedly and suddenly in 2017. The night before his funeral, it occurred to me that I now had to write this book. It has been a surprising joy to write. I acknowledge that the central topic of death and dying is something a lot of people would consider sad, morose or even somewhat frightening, my experiences have been genuinely positive, uplifting. And that is the sense I have tried to infuse through the book.
